Carers information
All patients having a procedure at Notting Hill Day Hospital must have a designated carer to escort them home and to stay with them for 24 hours after surgery. The hospital staff will provide carers with an estimated time of discharge on the day of surgery.
Carers are welcome to wait in the Notting Hill Day Hospital patient lounge until the patient is ready to be discharged or alternatively, they can visit the many dining options, museums or art galleries which are all a short stroll away.
Upon discharge the carer will receive discharge instructions, please ensure these instructions are followed and do not hesitate to speak with the hospital staff if there are any questions. You can find more information about discharge under our post-procedure page.
